Edson Barboza retired at UFC 330 , held last Saturday (15), and took with him a new, and unusual, scar. The Brazilian entered the action in the opening fight of the main card and ended up being defeated by Esteban Ribovics before hanging up his gloves. In addition to the defeat, the veteran suffered a deep cut on his shin during the fight.

Barboza entered the octagon quite emotional, but as soon as the fight began, Ribovics went on the offensive, imposed an intense pace, and forced a stand-up exchange, causing damage to the Brazilian.

In an attempt to respond to the Argentine's attacks, Barboza resorted to low and medium kicks. In one of these attempts, however, he hit his opponent's elbow and ended up opening a deep cut on his own shin.

After the fight, the Brazilian left his gloves in the center of the octagon, announcing his retirement.

With the defeat, Edson Barboza reached his 15th career loss and accumulated four consecutive defeats. Ribovics, on the other hand, achieved his 16th victory and put behind him the defeat suffered against Mateusz Gamrot in the last round.
