Kauê Fernandes saw his good run in MMA come to an end at UFC 330. At the event held this Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA), the Brazilian lost to Jalin Turner by knockout in less than a minute, in a fight valid for the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg).
Before fighting at UFC 330 , Kauê was riding a three-fight winning streak and close to breaking into the top 15 of the highly competitive division. With the loss, the Brazilian has fallen further behind the elite and will have to rebuild his career. On the other hand, Turner, with two consecutive wins, could regain a place in the division's rankings.
Kauê Fernandes , 31, began his MMA career in 2014 and debuted in the UFC in 2023. In the sport, the Brazilian has built a professional record of 11 wins, eight by stoppage (six by knockout and two by submission), and three losses.

The two athletes began the fight exchanging kicks and moving at long range. The taller American dominated the center of the octagon from the start and cornered his opponent very efficiently. After catching a kick from the Brazilian and being countered with a spinning backfist, Turner landed a powerful left cross on his opponent's chin, sending him to the ground.
Subsequently, he punished Fernandes with heavy ground and pound punches against the cage, forcing referee Jason Herzog to stop the fight when the clock showed only 39 seconds.

However, after the 28-year-old giant slowed down and showed signs of fatigue, the 34-year-old veteran imposed his rhythm and won the fight by submission.
With the victory, Dustin Stoltzfus reached 16 wins in his career and ended a two-fight losing streak in the UFC. On the other hand, Abdul-Malik now has two consecutive losses.
