Mackenzie Dern gives a masterclass in MMA, dominating in all areas and defending her title at UFC 330.

Mackenzie Dern gave a true MMA lesson at UFC 330 , held this Saturday (15). In the co-main event, the Brazilian faced Gillian Robertson in a duel valid for the strawweight belt (up to 52,2 kg), dominated the Canadian both standing and on the ground and defended her title for the first time.

The victory gave Mackenzie Dern her 17th career win, while Robertson suffered his ninth loss.

Mackenzie started the fight with a high volume of strikes on her feet, landing good attacks on her opponent. Startled, Robertson tried to take her opponent down, but couldn't find an opening. After a series of straight punches, the Brazilian capitalized on the Canadian's lapse in concentration, changed her level, and went for a takedown, bringing the fight to the ground.

On the ground, the champion remained dominant. Dern passed the guard, threatened a kimura, took the back, and nearly finished the fight with a rear-naked choke.

In the second round, Mackenzie took the fight to the ground again and maintained control. With just over a minute gone, the Brazilian was already on the Canadian's back again, looking for a rear-naked choke, which she almost locked in. Following a mistake by Dern, Robertson managed to get on top, but quickly found herself in trouble with a leg lock, which evolved into a sweep.

In the third round, Mackenzie landed the best strikes again in the stand-up fight, but began to show the first signs of fatigue. Robertson took advantage of this to increase the volume of strikes and began to gain momentum in the fight. In the final minute, the Canadian managed to take the Brazilian down.

The fourth round began with Dern taking the fight to the ground and securing her back in the first few seconds. Pressed against the cage, the Brazilian couldn't find space to lock in a rear-naked choke and ended up on the bottom at the end of the round. Even in this unfavorable position, however, Mackenzie managed to attack the Canadian's arm with an armlock and then attempted a variation to a leg lock, but didn't have time to finish.

In the final five minutes, both fighters returned aggressively. While Mackenzie sought to keep the fight standing, Robertson began trying to take the fight to the ground. After 25 minutes of combat, the judges declared Mackenzie Dern the winner by unanimous decision.
