The Irishman faces Islam Makhachev in a duel valid for the welterweight belt (up to 77 kg), which could put the Russian ahead of Anderson Silva as the fighter with the longest winning streak in the organization's history . However, to win the title and prevent the champion's record, Garry will also have to beat the odds from the bookmakers.

The Irishman is considered the underdog in the match. Ian Garry 's victory pays 3,55 for every real bet. That is, a R$100 bet would yield R$355 in case of a win. On the other hand, someone who invests the same amount in Islam Makhachev would receive R$127 if the Dagestani confirms his favoritism and emerges victorious.

In practice, a R$100 bet on Barboza would yield R$560 if the Brazilian manages to surprise and win the match. Those who invest the same amount on the Argentinian would have a return of R$114.
