Ian Garry faces the biggest challenge of his career against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 , next Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA). Before the fight, however, the Irishman received a special message from Carlos Prates , his former opponent. The Brazilian declared his support for his rival, but not just out of friendship or respect: 'The Nightmare' has a clear objective in mind, the rematch.
Prates and Garry faced each other in April 2025, when the Irishman won by unanimous decision. Since then, the Brazilian has made it clear that he intends to have another opportunity against the European to try to reverse the result and even the score between the two.

The fans, therefore, can be seen as a way to keep the desire for a rematch alive. For this rematch to happen, however, the rival first needs to overcome Makhachev, the current welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg), in one of the biggest challenges of his UFC career; the Russian, in turn, is on a 16-fight winning streak in the organization.
Garry reacted provocatively to the Brazilian's message. Commenting on Prates' support, the Irishman called the São Paulo native "son," referring to his victory in their first encounter. Despite the provocation, both have expressed interest in facing each other again, and the possibility of a rematch in Brazil has also been mentioned by the fighters.
