Mackenzie Dern's opponent draws inspiration from Charles Oliveira to win the UFC 330 title; find out why.

While many fans have been focused on the final fight of UFC 330 , the co-main event also deserves special attention. Returning to the octagon for the first time after defeating Virna Jandiroba and becoming the new strawweight champion (up to 52,1 kg), Mackenzie Dern will face Gillian Robertson on the other side of the octagon, in a highly anticipated matchup. Seeking to fulfill the biggest dream of her career, "The Wild One" has been drawing inspiration from Charles Oliveira to dethrone the Brazilian.

Present in the UFC since participating in the 26th season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2017, the Canadian believes she has experienced a similar evolution to that of the "Radiant Lion," who took 11 years to become lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg).

“I’ve always said that I kind of followed in Charles Oliveira’s footsteps. He kind of came to the UFC too young and learned on the job, suffering some losses. And then, obviously, we saw the legend he became. I’m on my path in the same way he was,” the Canadian stated.
