The tenth season of the acclaimed 'Dana White Contender Series' program begins this Tuesday (11) and presents a surprising novelty. The show that reveals the most talent for the UFC and which is held in the remodeled Apex, a gym located in Las Vegas (USA), can now be watched in person by fight fans.
Throughout the nine seasons of the reality show, only the fighters, their teams, commentators, and UFC executives watched the fights from a VIP box. Now, Dana White has announced that tickets for fans to have this live experience will cost $25 (approximately R$130 at the current exchange rate). With this change, the Contender Series, which drew attention for its quiet fights due to not being open to the public, should present a more vibrant atmosphere starting with this season.
“I think it costs 25 dollars. Yes, I don’t know if it was necessarily about the silence. It just happened that way. Everything evolves and this would evolve too. I wish I could do more seasons. Ten have flown by. I love it. There’s nothing I’d rather do on Tuesdays and I’m excited to have my first experience here,” said the manager during a scrum with the press, held last Monday (10).
UFC champions emerged from the Contender Series.
It didn't take long for Dana White's favorite program to bear fruit for the UFC. In its nine seasons, the Contender Series revealed four champions: Carlos Ulberg , Jack Della Maddalena , Jamahal Hill , and Sean O'Malley.
