Mauricio Ruffy has not yet joined Alexander Volkanovski in preparation to face Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 331 , scheduled for September 18. Scheduled for the co-main event, the Brazilian left the Fighting Nerds team to join the Australian's team , but decided to begin training in Brazil due to UFC commitments in the United States.
In a post on his Instagram stories, Ruffy explained that he remains in Brazil at this time due to his schedule related to the event. The Brazilian will have to participate in the press conference in Philadelphia before heading to Australia.

“We’re still here in Brazil… I haven’t traveled yet because there’s going to be a face-off in Philadelphia. So I won’t be able to go to Australia, I’d lose more than two days. Going to Australia, then going to the United States, then back to Australia. So I held off a little longer here, I’m focusing on training here and from here I’ll go to the press conference and from the press conference I’ll go to Australia,” Ruffy explained.
