Apparently, Carlos Prates no longer wants Islam Makhachev as welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg). This Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA), the Russian puts the belt on the line for the first time against Ian Machado Garry in the main fight of UFC 330. As he is on a high in the category and close to competing for the title, the Brazilian does not hide who he prefers to face.

In an interview with the YouTube channel 'Laerte Viana na Área', Prates supported Makhachev's retirement as soon as the event is over. Furthermore, the legendary Russian stated that he is in the final stretch of his career and has few fights left in MMA.

Carlos Prates , 32, is one of the top Brazilian fighters currently active in MMA and is on the rise in the UFC. He began his career in the sport in 2012 and debuted for the organization in 2024. Currently, the striker is ranked first in the welterweight division.
