After a frustrating return to the world's most famous octagon at UFC 329 , Conor McGregor is on a recovery journey to get back into competition. Days after undergoing surgery on his right knee to reconstruct his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), "The Notorious" went public in a video on his social media to show his optimism about the coming months of his career.
In the video, the Irishman recalls former champions who suffered from the same type of injury and managed not only to recover, but also to win titles again. He also cited Tom Brady, widely recognized as one of the best American football players in history.

The anticlimactic ending of the UFC 329 main event brought an unpalatable irony for The Notorious. Outmatched by Max Holloway due to injury, the Irishman had already experienced a similar scenario in their first encounter in 2013. On that occasion, he tore the ACL in his left knee, but managed to stay in the fight and win by unanimous decision. He subsequently underwent surgery and only returned to the cage the following year.
