Manumito downplays rival and predicts a brutal end to the fight at UFC Vegas 120: 'The biggest challenge is the weight cut'

MMA prospect Manoel Manumito has adopted a dangerous stance for his next fight. This Saturday (8), the Brazilian will fight at UFC Vegas 120 against debutant Richie Miranda in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). And the athlete has no shortage of confidence for his second appearance in the octagon, as he is not at all impressed with the American.

In an interview with UFC Brazil, Manumito simply downplayed Miranda. The Brazilian's attitude is surprising, considering he accepted the fight at the last minute, meaning without having done a proper and complete training camp. To make matters worse, the American is a former LFA lightweight champion, which proves his high level of skill. In any case, losing isn't on the Brazilian's mind, as he's more concerned with making weight than with his opponent and predicts a brutal finish for him.

"I was able to make some adjustments. I'm working on my opponent's mistakes. I watched many of his fights and I see many openings in his game . If I land my punch, I know it will go in. I didn't follow him, I didn't even know who he was , but after the fight was set, I researched him and saw his game. He's a guy who isn't very aggressive, he's slower . I'm much faster than him and I think that's the opening," he said.

“It’s about feinting, throwing punches, and making it happen. I think the biggest challenge is the weight cut because it’s so close to the fight . I’m always training, preparing for whatever comes, but thank God my weight is good. I know everything will be alright. I don’t expect anything, I know I’m going to win this fight by knockout or it will be a war . Watch my fight, it will certainly be a great war and a beautiful knockout ,” he concluded.

Manoel Sousa , nicknamed Manumito, is 29 years old and a promising MMA fighter. The Brazilian began his career in the sport in 2019, competing in Bellator and the PFL, and making his UFC debut in 2026. In MMA, he has a record of 14 wins, 12 by stoppage (nine by knockout and three by submission), and one loss. His most notable victory was against Mauricio Ruffy.
