More than a month after being detained at Atlanta Airport, Dustin Poirier will return for the first time to his job as an official Ultimate commentator. The Diamond is scheduled as part of the UFC Vegas 120 broadcast team , which takes place this Saturday (8) live from the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. The information was released by the company itself earlier this week.

The event, which features ten Brazilian fighters throughout the card, will have a very important duel for the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg) in the main fight. Mateusz Gamrot , who comes from a victory against Esteban Ribovics , will face prospect Quillan Salkilld for five rounds. A training partner of Poirer, the Pole said he was happy with his friend's presence at the event.

“He has incredible energy all the time and a great attitude every day. He texted me the other day saying he wants to come to my fight this Saturday in Las Vegas. I replied, ‘Dude, if you come, you’ll give me 100% more strength and attitude.’ If Dustin comes to that fight, man, I become immortal,” he stated.

Dustin Poirier 's arrest shocked the MMA community. Although he was released within hours after posting bail, the most shocking aspect of the episode was a body camera video captured by a police officer, in which "The Diamond" is clearly seen intoxicated and verbally abusing airport staff, as well as using a racist slur to refer to the officer at one point. Fortunately, no physical aggression occurred, and he was arrested without resistance. He later admitted to having problems with alcohol consumption.
