On the rise in the UFC, Mauricio Ruffy received some great news last Wednesday (5). The talented Brazilian was scheduled to fight against the feared Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 331, an event that takes place on September 19th in California (USA). Without wasting any time, the former member of the 'Fighting Nerds' team has already reacted to the announcement, which marks a significant change in his career.
As expected, Ruffy was overjoyed, as this is the biggest fight of his career. In fact, the Brazilian's excitement was so great that he revealed that, if he wins, he will surpass the competition in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg) and face champion Justin Gaethje.

It's true that the UFC didn't announce the fight as a title eliminator, but rather as the co-main event, lasting five rounds. In any case, Ruffy, ranked tenth in the division and considered the underdog, expressed optimism and guaranteed he's prepared for the challenge against the Armenian.
"The big news is out: Mauricio Ruffy vs. Arman Tsarukyan . Very grateful to God for the opportunity. Not only for this, but for the entire agreement that was made. Winning the fight, we go straight for the title . Having a great fight against a great fighter," said the athlete on his official Instagram account.
"That's it, I'm ready to give my best. I don't feel pressured at all. I feel privileged, very grateful to God for all of this, and we're going for another great fight," he concluded.
