Former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), Robert Whittaker started a new era in his career at UFC 329 , by beating Nikita Krylov in his debut in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg), the Australian now contemplates greater possibilities for the future. In this context, he was not at all happy with Joe Rogan's comments throughout his fight. He spoke about the subject in an interview on the 'Bedtime MMA' podcast last Monday (4).

Among many comments, Whittaker spoke about an observation Rogan made regarding his physical condition. The commentator reportedly described the former champion as "cute," which generated various reactions on social media. Although he avoided controversy, he made it clear that he didn't like Rogan's words.

"It was a bit annoying. You know how it is. You should see the number of memes that came out after that comment; it's crazy. It was surreal. I noticed that comment, but I assumed it was, like, an accident when they said they had 'a plan to beat me.' I don't understand where that plan was. I don't know, but I felt really good."

Finally, the Ripper also spoke about how he felt in the new weight class. Despite weighing over 100 kg on the day of the fight, he said he was happy with his performance, as he managed to combine the speed and movement of the middleweights (up to 83,9 kg) with the firepower of the light heavyweights (up to 93 kg).

“Obviously, this is my first fight in the light heavyweight division. My first weight cut in this category. My first rehydration and post-weigh-in nutrition. There are many things I can do differently because I realized that, although I still cut a considerable amount of weight on fight day, I don't need to replenish fuel as much; I was eating quite a lot throughout the week, up until the weigh-in, which means I had much more sodium in my system than necessary. But I felt strong and remained fast. I went in there weighing around 103 kilos — which is normal, since I'm a big guy — and still maintained my speed. You could see that every time I hit Krylov, they weren't weak or superficial blows. He felt the blows every time; I kind of dictated the pace with that. So, I'm very happy and satisfied with my debut in the category,” he concluded.
