Carlos Prates vs. Islam Makhachev and the 'Nutella Cake'
Nicknamed 'Nutella Cake' by Islam Makhachev , Carlos Prates built a fun and spontaneous rivalry with the Russian. It all started when the athletes crossed paths at the hotel while preparing for the UFC 322 weigh-in, and their weight cuts presented a curious contrast.
While Makhachev was undergoing a restricted diet and dehydration to reach the welterweight limit (up to 77 kg), Prates was enjoying a Nutella cake, even while undergoing a weight loss process to compete in the same category. The episode impressed the Russian, who began to use the nickname in a humorous way.
