With two Brazilian beasts in the spotlight, another edition of Strikeforce takes place today in San José, California. The show, which will be broadcast live throughout Brazil via HBO Plus, will feature the expected duel between black belt Fabrício Werdum and the Russian beast Fedor Emelianenko, as the main attraction of the night. Facing an opponent considered by many to be invincible, the Brazilian shows a lot of confidence for the duel.
“Something is only like this (impossible) until it happens for the first time. At the time of Pride, Tom Erikson was a phenomenon, nobody wanted to fight him. But I faced the challenge and overcame it. It was a 'cerebral' contest in the extreme. I respect Fedor for everything he did, but I respect much more all the necessary effort that brought me where I am”, said Werdum, in an exclusive interview with the blogger from SUPER FIGHTS Fernando Cappelli
In addition to the fight between Fedor and Werdum, Strikeforce also features the defense of the Brazilian women's belt Chris Cyborg against the American Jan Finney. Check out the full show card, which will start at 22pm.
