One of Brazil's top prospects, Michael PQD put on a show and knocked out Oban Eliott in a fight valid for the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg), during the penultimate preliminary fight of UFC Belgrade , on Saturday morning (1). The triumph marked the fighter's debut in the biggest MMA organization on the planet, where he remained undefeated with ten wins as a professional fighter.

The Brazilian started the fight feinting a lot, trying to induce Elliott into making a mistake and slowly dominating the center of the octagon. After cornering his opponent against the cage, he began working body shots and took the Welshman to the ground with a quick jab. Elliott got up quickly, only to be knocked down again seconds later after a beautiful jab-straight combination. PQD landed brutal punches to his opponent's face, forcing the referee to stop the fight when the clock showed one minute and 49 seconds of combat.
In an interview with Michael Bisping a few minutes after the victory, he said he was very happy and comfortable inside the octagon. Aware of the current state of the division, he requested a fight against the winner of the duel between veterans Geoff Neal and Chidi Njokuani , originally scheduled for August 15th and which should be rescheduled soon.
Newcomer wins in best fight of UFC Belgrade
In the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg), Serbian Borislav Nikolic made a spectacular debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), defeating Mark Vologdin by unanimous decision in the best fight of UFC Belgrade . With this result, the former Brave champion achieved his seventh consecutive victory, while the Russian went into his second fight in the world's largest MMA organization without a win.
Despite being considerably taller and having a greater reach, Nikolic was the aggressor from the start of the fight, moving forward and trying to corner his opponent. However, he suffered from Vologdin's quick and precise counter-attacks, who even managed a knockdown in the opening seconds. However, as the minutes passed, the Serbian's intensity was relentless, causing damage to the Russian and coming very close to finishing the fight with a rear-naked choke in the final seconds of the third round.
After 15 very eventful minutes in what was undoubtedly the best fight of the night, all judges scored it 29-27 in favor of Borislav Nikolic.
Veteran on the rise
At 36 years old, Tofiq Musayev has been impressing in the UFC. In the lightweight division, the Azerbaijani representative impressed against Ludovit Klein . Despite being a grappling specialist, the athlete punished the Slovakian with his low kicks in the first round.
In the second round, the fight was balanced due to 'Mr. Highlight's' striking skills. However, Musayev remained unfazed and displayed precision and power, knocking out Klein. This was the athlete's second consecutive victory, bringing him closer to breaking into the top 15 of the lightweight division.
