Navajo Stirling changed his level in MMA by achieving the biggest victory of his career at UFC Belgrade . In the co-main event held this Saturday (1st), the New Zealander punished former champion Jan Blachowicz and, thus, left the status of promise behind to become a reality in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg). The 'new Israel Adesanya ' knocked out the tough Pole in the first round by applying a brutal 'ground and pound'.
In this way, Stirling, 28, extended his undefeated streak in MMA and continued his hype. Adesanya's friend and partner now has 11 wins, seven of them by knockout. With this important victory, the New Zealander consolidates his place among the elite of the UFC light heavyweight division.

Bigger and faster, Stirling started the action relying on kicks. Focused, Blachowicz advanced and waited for the right moment to attack. When he landed the first powerful punch, Blachowicz stunned Stirling, who recovered quickly.
Even with a bleeding nose, Stirling continued attacking and retaliated, staggering Blachowicz with a straight punch. With Blachowicz on the ground, Stirling delivered several punches and elbows, causing him to bleed, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Swiss puts on a show.
Robert Valentin simply shone and ignored the fact that Dusko Todorovic was fighting at home. The Swiss fighter surprised the Serbian by landing a kick, isolating him in the octagon. On the ground, 'Robzilla' showed all his grappling skills and easily finished his opponent in the first round via guillotine choke.
Thus, Valentin secured his second UFC victory after a difficult start with three losses. On the other hand, Todorovic has reason to worry, as he has lost four of his last five fights.
The spell backfired on the sorcerer.
Fighting at home, Serbian Vlastislav Cepo , known for his aggressive style, went all out to knock out Gilbert Urbina , but his defense was lacking and he lasted only a minute in his debut. In a major upset, the American surprisingly stunned his opponent with an unassuming jab, causing him to fall.
On the ground, Urbina delivered a powerful sequence of punches and elbows to Cepo, forcing the referee to stop the fight in the first round. This was the athlete's second victory in the UFC, where he was under pressure and at risk of being cut.
French debutant impresses.
Full attention on the talented and bad boy Noah Gugnon . In the opening fight of the main card, the 25-year-old Frenchman fought a debut bout against Milos Janicic in the lightweight division and made short work of the hometown fighter, needing just over a minute to win by submission.
Early in the fight, Janicic injured his foot while kicking Gugnon. Seeing his opponent in a precarious situation, the Frenchman took advantage and quickly submitted him on the ground with a rear-naked choke. The fighter now has a record of ten wins, all by stoppage (six by knockout and four by submission), and two losses.
