Dana White, it seems, was caught off guard by Anthony Smith 's arrest , although he admits he doesn't have much information about the case. Last Monday (27), MMA fans were surprised by the news that the former title challenger and current commentator was arrested in Nebraska (USA), accused of three crimes. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the UFC president expressed concern and said he hopes everything will be resolved in the best way for the former employee and his family.
In an interview with 'The Mac Life', White highlighted that he did not expect to see Smith involved in such an episode, stressing that such situations can happen to anyone. The executive also reinforced that he is unaware of the details of the case, since he has been traveling in recent days, but reiterated his wish for a positive outcome for the fighter, his family, and his children.

“Well, he’s one of those guys you don’t expect to see that happen to. From my personal experience, this can happen to anyone… I don’t know enough about the case. I don’t know the details. I’ve been on the road the whole time, but I just hope everything works out for him, his family, and his children,” said Dana White.
Arrested on charges of domestic violence causing serious bodily harm, making terrorist threats, and first-degree unlawful imprisonment, Smith was released from the Sarpy County jail after posting bail of $500 (approximately R$2,5 million at the current exchange rate).
Now out on provisional release, the Prosecutor's Office has ordered that the athlete stay away from his wife and has prohibited him from having any contact with her until the case is resolved.
Furthermore, 'Lionheart' will have to appear in Sarpy County District Court on August 17th. If the wrestler is convicted, he could face more than 20 years in prison.
