Sean Strickland is eager to return to the UFC octagon, but still needs time to fully recover. In the main event of UFC 328 , held in May, the outspoken fighter injured his shoulder during his victory over Khamzat Chimaev , a result that crowned him middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg). Even far from 100%, the American is already showing signs that he intends to rematch the fight against his Chechen rival.

In a social media post, Strickland explained that the shoulder recovery process is progressing, although caution is still required before an official return.

“You guys keep asking me when I’m going to fight again. My shoulder is getting better, I need a little more time,” said Sean Strickland.

The champion also took the opportunity to respond to Chimaev's provocations, criticizing his opponent's behavior and mocking his difficulties with weight cutting, which the Wolf's team blamed for the defeat.

“As for who I’m going to face… Chimeav just won’t shut his mouth. Do you want me to teach you how to cut weight so you’ll stop complaining for a second?” concluded the middleweight champion.

Sean Strickland shocked the world by defeating Khamzat Chimaev in the main event of UFC 328. Considered a clear underdog, the American had to withstand a first round dominated by his rival, known as 'The Wolf', before turning the tide of the fight. The comeback began in the second round, when Strickland sensed the Chechen's physical exhaustion and began to impose his own rhythm.

After five intense rounds, Strickland had his arm raised, ending Chimaev's undefeated streak and winning the middleweight title. In the post-fight analysis, it was confirmed that the champion fought with an injury, specifically a shoulder problem, while his opponent faced significant difficulties cutting weight, a factor that directly impacted his performance throughout the fight.
