Brazilian MMA is on fire, with Fabricio Werdum at the center of two controversies. Recently, the former UFC heavyweight champion, who hasn't fought since 2021, clashed with Rousimar Palhares, "Toquinho ," and also continued his old feud with Marcelo Brigadeiro.

In an interview with the YouTube channel 'Portal do Vale Tudo', 'Vai Cavalo', aware of his achievements in MMA and Jiu-Jitsu, downplayed his rival's quality as a fighter and again called him 'Ghost'. The rivalry between the veterans resurfaced after Brigadeiro pointed out that many talk about him but don't have the courage to sign a contract to face him, citing Werdum as an example.
Furthermore, Marcelo stated that Fabrício is avoiding Toquinho and bet that he would be submitted by him in a hypothetical fight. In turn, 'Vai Cavalo' didn't let it go and, just as he did with the fighter from Minas Gerais, denied having any interest in facing his rival, but his level of antipathy is so great that he imposed a specific condition for the fight to happen. Not satisfied, Werdum even mocked the nickname he gave to Brigadeiro.
“ He’s not a real fighter , we know he’s a ghost of the fight. I’ll have to admit it, because I think I started the joke. I’m not going to lie. On the Dos Nossos podcast, I was with Cariani and Balestrin and someone brought up Brigadeiro. I called him a dog’s ass. Obviously, besides being a ghost of the fight, he’s a dog’s ass too ,” said the veteran.
“Let’s be more polite, CDC, right? Because he’s a well-mannered guy, isn’t he? I started talking about him, that he was CDC, and Cariani also mentioned it. From that time until now, I think he’s made about 18 videos. He talks about everything, he’s aggressive, he does a lot of things. I think Brigadeiro, maybe, as a commentator, a coach, he might be good, but as a fighter, the ghost doesn’t work .”
"Only if he uses 'Fighting Ghost' as his nickname, then I'll consider him a fighter. But it's impossible, it doesn't make sense. I already told him I wouldn't be happy fighting the Brigadier . I don't like to show off, but it would be like Real Madrid fighting a local amateur team . It doesn't make sense. I wouldn't fight the Brigadier ."
" Only if it involves some kind of strike, a slap in the face, to satisfy me . Only in grappling, submission, even fighting Brigadeiro, I grabbed him, submitted him, he tapped out, I let go, the fight was over, there's nothing more, there's no need to squeeze because I'm angry at him. I'd like there to be a fight, if that were the case, just with open hands . I'd be very happy with open hands."
“ Start with an open hand, grappling with strikes, but not just grappling . He says he's going to rip my foot off, but I say, 'Okay. Thank you, a hug for you.' I've never been afraid of any fight, but I am afraid of Brigadeiro, the ghost of fighting, because I've had trauma since I was little. I was afraid of ghosts, the ghost of fighting. That's why I'm afraid to fight him, for sure,” he concluded.

Fabricio Werdum , 49, is one of the biggest names in the history of heavyweight MMA. The Brazilian began his career in the sport in 2002 and built a record of 24 wins, nine losses, one draw, and one no contest.
One of 'Vai Cavalo's' achievements in the sport was winning the UFC belt in 2015. His most notable victories were over Alexander Gustafsson , Alistair Overeem , Antônio Pezão , Cain Velasquez , Fedor Emelianenko , Mark Hunt , Rodrigo Minotauro , Roy Nelson , and Travis Browne (twice).
