Dana White 's presence in the boxing world, it seems, has already begun to bother the competition. Known for revolutionizing MMA at the helm of the UFC, the executive launched Zuffa Boxing and has gradually attracted big names in the noble art to his project. However, if Oscar De La Hoya's predictions are to be believed, this movement may not last long.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, the former boxer and current promoter stated that the strategy involves high initial investments to entice athletes, but indicated that future contractual changes could harm the fighters.

“(Zuffa Boxing) is offering these guys a lot of money, but in the long run, they're going to change the contracts. They're going to lure you in like a Trojan horse, and they're going to screw you over. That's the essence… That's exactly what happened to Shakur Stevenson,” said Oscar De La Hoya.

Zuffa Boxing already boasts some of the biggest names in the sport.

Zuffa Boxing has already made an immediate impact on the boxing market by betting on aggressive signings and multi-million dollar investments under the leadership of Dana White. In partnership with the Saudi fund Sela and the influential Turki Alalshikh, the organization debuted with an ambitious global expansion plan, including broadcasts on Paramount+.

The first major move was the signing of Briton Conor Benn for an impressive $15 million on a short-term deal, quickly followed by the announcement of the undefeated four-division champion, Shakur Stevenson, on a multi-fight contract.

The promotion's roster has grown rapidly with world-renowned names and dominant talents in different divisions. In addition to Benn and Stevenson, Zuffa Boxing has secured athletes Jai Opetaia, Edgar Berlanga, Richardson Hitchins, and the experienced Jason Moloney.

Maintaining its aggressive stance in the market, the organization is already targeting new negotiations with stars like Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, a fighter that Dana White has made clear is his dream target.
