Carlos Prates revealed he is rooting for Ian Garry in the main event of UFC 330 , scheduled for August 15th. The Irishman will face Islam Makhachev in the most anticipated fight of the event and, although he acknowledges the welterweight champion's (up to 77 kg) favoritism, the Brazilian believes in a possible upset, albeit for personal reasons.
In an interview with 'NI Esportes', Prates indicated that his opinion may be influenced by the desire for a rematch, but stated that he is confident in a Garry victory, highlighting the current trend of upsets in MMA throughout the year. Even admitting that Makhachev has more resources to come out with the triumph, the fighter showed conviction that the Irishman can have his arm raised in victory.

"I don't know if I'm speaking from the heart because I want a rematch with him, but I think Ian Garry is going to win, man, I think he's going to pull off the crime. All the underdogs are winning this year and this is the only one left. Makhachev is the favorite, he has more weapons to win, but I think he (Ian) is going to win," said Carlos Prates.
