UFC Abu Dhabi , which takes place this Saturday (25), suffered a major setback for Brazilian fans. Wellington Turman , who was scheduled to face Islam Dulatov , had his fight cancelled due to his opponent's health problems. Despite the frustration, the former training partner of Alex Poatan remains optimistic about future opportunities in the organization.
In a video posted on social media, Turman lamented the cancellation of the fight, highlighted that he was well prepared for the confrontation, and wished his opponent a speedy recovery. The Brazilian also reiterated that he remains ready to return to the octagon as soon as a new opportunity arises and thanked his fans for their support.

At 30 years old, the fight against Islam Dulatov represented a comeback opportunity for Wellington Turman in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg). With three wins and six losses in the UFC, the Brazilian is going through a delicate moment, coming off a streak of three consecutive losses and without a win since February 2022.
