One of the most folkloric and popular names in all of MMA already has a date to return to the most famous octagon in the world. Coming off a great performance against Chris Duncan in April of this year, Renato Moicano will face an old rival: Brian Ortega . The two are scheduled to face each other on September 19, as part of UFC 331. The information was first released by journalist Leonardo Guimarães this Friday (24).
The fight will be valid for the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg), marking the American's debut in the division. The two had been scheduled to face each other in March of this year, but Ortega withdrew from the fight after suffering an injury and was replaced by Duncan, who was submitted in the second round.

Recently, Renato himself announced on his social media that he would be taking a break from content creation, hinting that he was about to begin a training camp for a fight. Very popular, he is known for his digital content for both Brazilian and American audiences.
Moicano and Ortega are old rivals.
With considerable experience, the paths of Renato Moicano and Brian Ortega first crossed in July 2017, when both were still prospects in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg). Undefeated at the time, the Brazilian was submitted with a guillotine choke in the third round, in a very balanced fight. Since then, both have become title challengers in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Currently, the Brazilian is ranked tenth in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), while his opponent is making his debut in the category.
