EXCLUSIVE: Valter Walker gives advice to Alex Poatan after controversies: 'He pays too much attention'

In the countdown to face Thomas Pettersen in the last preliminary fight of UFC Abu Dhabi , Valter Walker is undoubtedly the most popular Brazilian to perform this Saturday (25). On a run of four consecutive wins, Johnny Walker 's younger brother has understood like few others how to handle fame on social media, to the point of being able to help Alex Poatan.

In an exclusive interview with SUPER LUTAS last Wednesday (22), Valter spoke about the latest controversies experienced by the Pataxó Indian, who has been collecting curious episodes in interactions in the virtual world since the traumatic knockout defeat to Ciryl Gane during the co-main event of UFC Casa Branca last month.

According to Walker, Alex tends to care too much about the opinions of anonymous people on social media, to the point of becoming bothered if internet users present different points of view. Using his own example as a basis, he said he believes that this way of acting in the world of social media can harm his mental health.

“Poatan pays attention to the idiots who say something about him. That's the biggest waste of time. Sometimes they're failures who will never achieve anything. And you're working hard, you've become something that guy will never become. Unlike Poatan, that guy is an ant. But he goes there, looks at the ant, and it ends up becoming a scorpion or a spider,” he declared.

Recently, Valter himself said in an interview with reporter Laerte Viana that he believed Sergei Pavlovich was the favorite in a hypothetical match against his compatriot. This comment generated some malicious remarks.

Recently, the former middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion caught the attention of fans and the media by engaging in provocative episodes with Paulo Borrachinha and even with Paulo Martins, one of his Instagram followers who disagreed with Poatan's criticism of Herb Dean amidst Michel Pereira 's dismissal from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
