New controversy! Alex Poatan responds to Paulo Borrachinha and defends privilege in the UFC: 'He's out of date'

Always attentive to what happens on social media involving his name, Alex Poatan has been involved in yet another controversy. This is because the athlete strongly disliked Paulo Borrachinha 's stance regarding him. As expected, the veteran, who was brutally knocked out by Ciryl Gane in the second round of their fight in June in Washington (USA), gave a decidedly unfriendly response to his compatriot.

Still without a fight scheduled, Poatan went to Borrachinha's Instagram profile and made a point of stating that he is mistaken about his situation in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg). Recently, the fighter from Minas Gerais claimed to be the number one fighter in the division and the only one in a position to compete for the interim title.

Borrachinha went further and not only found the veteran's presence in the ranking strange, but also reminded everyone that he is coming off a loss. It's worth noting that Poatan decided to switch from light heavyweight to heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) and has already stated that he will remain in the division. Even so, the former champion, exuding power, stressed that he could fight for the title again at any time, defending his privilege in the UFC and making it clear that his compatriot is only considered because his focus is on winning the belt in three different weight classes.

“ This isn’t provocation! But I see you’re out of date , and I understand why, because it’s been a long time since you signed your contract, and many things have changed since then. If I want to fight for the light heavyweight title directly, I can do it ! Many fighters are waiting or working to get that opportunity. I got it and took advantage of it,” the fighter wrote.

“But now I want something more, which is the third belt. I have to take risks, because if I hadn’t taken risks in all my fights, I wouldn’t have achieved everything I have achieved,” he concluded.
