Dana White's rival businessman reveals that Paulo Borrachinha asked for 'help'

Eddie Hearn revealed that Paulo Borrachinha contacted him seeking a professional partnership . The British businessman, known for running Matchroom Boxing and the Matchroom Talent Agency, reported that the Brazilian sought his help after following the work done with names like Tom Aspinall and Ian Garry.

In an interview with the YouTube channel Fight Hub TV, Hearn said that Borrachinha contacted him through journalist Ariel Helwani and expressed interest in having the manager oversee his career. The businessman revealed that the Brazilian made a point of getting in touch after witnessing the success of his partnerships with MMA athletes.

“He actually contacted Ariel Helwani to ask for my number, called me and said, ‘I want your help. I’ve seen what you’ve done with Aspinall, I’ve seen what you’ve done with Garry, I’ve seen what you’ve said about us, and I want you to represent me,’” Eddie Hearn revealed.

Eddie pointed out that the Brazilian was not the only one to approach him after closing the deal with Aspinall and stated that he believes in Borrachinha's potential as an athlete and as a commercial name within the UFC.

Hearn has expanded his presence in MMA in recent months, mainly after taking over the management of athletes linked to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Briton currently works with Tom Aspinall , the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), and Ian Garry , one of the leading names in the new generation of welterweights (up to 77,1 kg).

The potential partnership comes at an important moment in Borrachinha's career. The Brazilian is seeking a title shot in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg) after knocking out Azamat Muzarkanov in April at UFC 327. If the deal goes through, the former middleweight title challenger (up to 83,9kg) would have one of the sport's most influential managers working with him to negotiate new contracts, opportunities, and potential high-profile fights.
