Dana White reveals that Conor McGregor possessed a rare combination of talent, personality, and commercial impact that transformed MMA into a global phenomenon. According to the organization's president, the Irishman represents a phenomenon impossible to replicate in the UFC.
In an interview with The Pivot, Dana White stated that the organization will hardly find another athlete with the same impact as McGregor. According to the executive, the Irishman's success was the result of a mix of athletic talent, a striking personality, and the ideal moment in which he emerged in the sport.

“I see a guy like Conor as a unicorn. People always ask me who will be the next Conor McGregor . There will never be another Conor McGregor . The timing, the place, and the way he emerged,” declared the double champion.
His sporting peak came in 2016 when McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, becoming the first fighter in the organization's history to hold two belts simultaneously. This feat cemented the Irishman as one of the biggest stars in MMA, combining performance inside the octagon with an ability to turn each appearance into a major world event.
Despite the emergence of new stars, no fighter has yet managed to achieve the same sporting, media, and commercial reach that placed 'Notorious' on another level within the UFC. The athlete became a protagonist in some of the organization's highest-rated moments and helped broaden the sport's popularity to an audience that previously didn't follow it.
From its historical peak to a moment of uncertainty.

The current scenario contrasts sharply with the Irishman's peak. McGregor hasn't won a fight since January 2020, has accumulated three consecutive losses in MMA, and his return was interrupted by two serious injuries in his last performances.
The first injury occurred against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 , when he fractured his left leg in 2021, and the most recent came against Max Holloway at UFC 329 , after a knee injury interrupted his return to competition. Even with a legacy that remains among the greatest in history, McGregor's competitive future is still uncertain. The former champion is now trying to recover the trajectory that established him as the greatest commercial phenomenon ever produced by the organization.
