Caio Borralho is willing to open the doors of Fighting Nerds to Israel Adesanya . Recently, the Nigerian surprised fans by announcing the end of his partnership with the City Kickboxing team, a move that caught the Brazilian's attention. Despite sharing the same middleweight category (up to 83,9 kg) with the former UFC champion, the nerd stated that he would be happy to share the training environment and exchange experiences with one of the biggest stars in the history of the division.

In an interview with the Encarada channel, Caio Borralho highlighted that he considers Adesanya's potential arrival at Fighting Nerds a learning opportunity for everyone involved. The Brazilian emphasized his admiration for the Nigerian and stated that he would welcome him with open arms, without any ego clashes, as he believes that both could evolve together within the team.

“It makes 1000% sense. The guy is an idol, a legend. It would be incredible to have him in the same training room every day. It would be amazing if he came to the team. No ego whatsoever… I would be the first one at the door to welcome him and invite him: 'Come on, man. It's going to be awesome to learn from you and I hope you learn too,'” said Caio Borralho.

After being defeated by Poatan twice in kickboxing and once for the UFC middleweight title (up to 83,9kg), Adesanya had another opportunity against the Brazilian at UFC 287 , held in April 2023 in Miami. This time, however, the outcome was different.

After struggling with low kicks in the first round and pressure at the start of the second, the Nigerian surprised everyone by landing a precise counter-punch that knocked out his rival, regaining the division title against his former nemesis.

However, since his victory over Poatan, Adesanya has not won again. The former champion has fought three more times and was defeated by Sean Strickland , Dricus Du Plessis , Nassourdine Imavov , and Joe Pyfer , being defeated by unanimous decision, submission, knockout, and technical knockout, respectively.
