At UFC 330 , scheduled for August 15th in Philadelphia, Islam Makhachev will make his first defense of the welterweight title (up to 77 kg) against Ian Machado Garry . During an appearance on the Russian podcast Smol Talk, the former undefeated lightweight champion highlighted that Garry represents one of the most complicated opponents in the division due to his physical characteristics and fighting style. According to Khabib, the constant movement, reach, and ability of the Chute Boxe fighter to control distance will force Makhachev to adopt a different strategy than the one he usually uses to dominate his rivals.
