Josh Hokit explains why Conor McGregor is a special case in the UFC.

Falastrão claims that the Irishman has become indispensable in promoting his image both inside and outside the octagon, using his career as an example for other athletes.

Josh Hokit believes that Conor McGregor gave a true lesson on how a fighter should build his career, even with the disappointing result inside the octagon. The Irishman returned to action at UFC 329 , held last Saturday (11), but ended up being defeated by Max Holloway after suffering an injury in the first seconds of the fight. Despite the setback, the former champion received a purse of US$ 30 million (about R$ 165 million, at the current exchange rate), an amount that, according to Hokit, highlights what differentiates 'Notorious' from most MMA athletes.

In a post on the social network 'X', Josh Hokit stated that many champions fail to excel beyond their athletic performance and harshly criticized athletes who, according to him, accept any opportunity offered by the UFC without building their own value.

“The champions don’t differentiate themselves enough from blood-related Eastern Europeans and low-IQ Brazilians who are willing to take their places for a Chili’s gift certificate and a carrot to feed their school bus,” said Josh Hokit.

Subsequently, Hokit praised McGregor for having explored all aspects of the sport, from promoting fights to building his image, stating that this stance made the Irishman an impossible figure to ignore and guaranteed him a multi-million dollar purse even after five years away from the octagon.

“Conor became impossible to ignore by taking advantage of absolutely every aspect of the fighting world, and just pocketed $30 million after five years away. That’s exactly the trajectory every fighter should pursue. Be a PURE ENTERTAINER instead of standing around holding out your hand. Either do that, or shut up and accept what they ‘give’ you,” the loudmouth concluded.

In his first fight in the octagon after five years of inactivity, Conor McGregor remained in action for only a few seconds before suffering a serious knee injury. Shortly after the referee signaled the start of the fight, the Irishman advanced on Max Holloway and attempted a flying kick. Upon landing, however, he twisted his left knee and immediately fell to the ground.

Unable to continue, the former featherweight (up to 65,7kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3kg) champion was attended to by the medical team and was ultimately forced to abandon the fight, resulting in Holloway's victory by stoppage early in the bout.
