Luck or destiny? Injuries mar Max Holloway's victories against Conor McGregor and Charles Oliveira.

In an anticlimactic ending, Conor McGregor left the UFC 329 octagon not only saddened by his defeat to Max Holloway , but also with a delicate injury to his right knee, requiring surgery according to the fighter himself. However, while the situation was terrible for the Irishman, the Hawaiian found himself in a familiar scenario: injury-free and with another victory under unexpected circumstances.

Despite the victory, the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) made himself available to face his rival again. Both in the octagon and at the press conference, Holloway made a point of praising his opponent and expressing his desire to have another trilogy in his career.

“I want to see how his (McGregor's) injury is. I'm ready to come back in 2027. I know I came out unscathed, but I owe my family some time. You'll see the Blessed One return in 2027,” the Hawaiian declared during the post- UFC 329 press conference.

Appealing to the unusual, this isn't the first time Max Holloway has found himself in this situation. In August 2015, the Hawaiian faced Charles Oliveira in a featherweight bout (up to 65,7 kg). In just over a minute, he emerged victorious by technical knockout after the Brazilian complained of a neck injury. The two only met again in the world's most famous octagon in March of this year, when the "Lion of the Storm" evened the score by using grappling to neutralize the "Blessed One".
