Alessandro Costa proved he is ready for the high level of the Ultimate flyweight division (up to 56,7 kg). The Brazilian accepted to face Cody Durden at UFC 329 , held this Saturday (11), dominated the American and finished the duel with a rear-naked choke in the second round.

With the victory, Alessandro reached five career wins, his third consecutive by stoppage. Cody Durden , on the other hand, suffered his tenth professional defeat.

Alessandro started the fight dominating the center of the octagon, while Durden relied on movement to try and confuse the Brazilian. During an attempt to close the distance, "Nono" managed to connect with the American and landed a good sequence of strikes. Towards the end of the first round, Costa landed clean punches again, even staggering his opponent, but without enough time to continue the fight.
In the second round, Alessandro returned even more aggressively, closing the distance and working with low kicks and boxing combinations. Midway through the round, Cody attempted a high kick but lost his balance and fell to the bottom. The Brazilian capitalized on the mistake, passed the guard, took the back, and finished with a rear-naked choke, securing another resounding victory in the UFC.
