Both of European origin, McGregor and Pimblett arrived at the biggest MMA event on the planet through the same showcase. Both the Briton and the Irishman stood out and became champions in Cage Warriors, one of the most important events in the Old Continent. While McGregor reigned in the featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) categories, Pimblett only captured the title at 65 kg.
