Former champion demands greater support from the UFC after Dustin Poirier's arrest: 'It's frightening'

The controversial arrest of Dustin poirier continues to generate buzz in the world of MMA. “I pray that many of these fighters save money and get clean for after (their career). I wish the UFC would do a little more to help us with that. Health insurance, insurance, retirement plan. Because it’s scary. To leave something you’ve done your whole life. The payments aren’t coming in anymore, the sponsors aren’t coming in anymore, and you don’t have that adrenaline rush of chasing something anymore,” he stated.

When addressing the specific issue of Diamante's arrest, Garbrandt expressed his discomfort with how some had handled the episode, praising Poirier's service throughout his years dedicated to Mixed Martial Arts.
