Hungry! Conor McGregor seeks to make up for lost time and wants new fights in the UFC in 2026.

Out of action for exactly five years, Conor McGregor, as expected, is hungry for a fight. This Saturday (11), in Las Vegas (USA), the Irish star makes his long-awaited return to the octagon against Max Holloway in the main fight of UFC 329And, if it's up to 'Notorious', his 2026 season won't end after fighting for the rematch.

In an interview with ESPN, a happy and renewed McGregor, eager to make up for lost time, showed a hunger for fighting. Frankly, the former UFC featherweight (up to 65,8 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) champion made it clear that his plan is to regain his rhythm and remain active for as long as possible.

It's true that, despite his passion for combat sports, the Irishman, when he was fighting, didn't show much consistency in the octagon. To give you an idea, 2021 was the last year in which McGregor fought more than once. Now, 'Notorious', at 37 years old and in the final stretch of his UFC contract, intends to repeat that feat.

“I love fight night, fight week. And, God willing, I’ll be back here next week and the week after. I could fight every week if it were possible. Before the injury, I even had about three fights in a year. People don’t remember that, but there it is. I intend to stay busy here. I believe in that and that’s what I want. I’m the one paving the way,” said the MMA legend.

"So, if I'm the one fighting for this and defending this idea, I'm sure that's the case. I've already explained my point of view to the UFC about the organization of my fights, they also gave their version, and we reached an understanding to let things happen on Saturday night and then we'll talk. I'm comfortable with that."

“I’m totally in agreement with that. As you know, there are still two fights left on my contract and the situation remains the same. This will be the next victory. So, I hope to continue and I’m optimistic that this will be the case,” he concluded.
