Invicta FC confirms that Cyborg will not lose weight

The Brazilian had intended to perform at catchweight in January, but gave up on the idea and, instead, will defend her belt again

The MMA fan you were hoping to see soon Chris Cyborg dropping in weight and starting to work in the Ronda Rousey e Holly holm you will have to wait a little longer. The Brazilian fighter will have her next fight in the featherweight category and has postponed her plans to gradually move to bantamweight.

Cyborg normally fights at 66 kg, but the women's featherweight division is not yet included in the UFC. Thus, the fighter would try to have her next fight at 63,5 kg, and then reach 61 kg, thus being able to perform in the Octagon. However, Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp confirmed that Cyborg left the move until later.

“Cyborg’s next fight will be at 66 kg. This will be the first time she competes without rehydration with intravenous fluid, so she made the decision to move forward and defend her belt”, said the director, in an interview with “AXS TV”.

Cyborg will fight on January 16th, in Costa Mesa, California (USA), against Belgian Cindy Dandois.
