The countdown to UFC 329 has entered its final stretch , and Max Holloway has intensified his preparation for one of the biggest challenges of his career. Before facing Conor McGregor in the main event, scheduled for July 11th, in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg), the Hawaiian has enlisted the help of a top-tier training partner: former champion Jack Della Maddalena.

The Australian participated in a training session alongside Holloway, sharing the experience gained in the very division where the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) will begin a new chapter in his career. The meeting between the fighters was recorded on video.

Della Maddalena's precise and aggressive striking style, combined with his high volume of strikes, could represent an important advantage in preparing the Hawaiian to deal with the power, precision, and timing characteristic of the double champion.

The duel also carries a strong historical component. Holloway and McGregor first faced off in 2013, when both were still seeking their place in the UFC. On that occasion, the Irishman won by unanimous decision. Since then, however, both have built memorable careers, won belts, and established themselves among the greatest names of their generations.

The move to the welterweight division represents one of the biggest challenges of the Hawaiian's career. After building a historic career in the featherweight division and winning the BMF in the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg), Holloway now faces a naturally larger opponent, which requires physical and strategic adaptations. In this context, sharing the mat with a former champion of the category could be decisive in reaching the octagon in the best possible condition.
