Kamaru Usman has a big goal before hanging up his gloves. Scheduled to face Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC Oklahoma on July 18, the former welterweight champion (up to 77 kg) seeks to qualify for a title fight in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), seen as his last great dream in his career.

During an appearance on the “Pound for Pound” podcast, Usman emphasized that he is still pursuing the status of a double champion and revealed that the possibility of winning titles in two weight classes remains an extremely attractive goal, ensuring that he will continue to focus on achieving this feat in MMA.

"That's something I'm still pursuing (double champion status). It's still something very attractive to me in this sport, so I'm going to pursue it," said Kamaru Usman.

At 39 years old, Kamaru Usman boasts a record of 21 wins and four losses in his career. A former welterweight champion, the Nigerian also has six title fight victories in the UFC. However, he is currently experiencing an inconsistent period, with only one win in his last four fights.
