Max Holloway almost had a very different career path. The former UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) and former holder of the 'BMF' belt, the Hawaiian had agreed to join the PFL before even fighting in the world's largest MMA organization. However, the deal fell through after changes in the league's plans.
In an interview with 'UFC on Paramount', Holloway revealed that he had signed a contract with the PFL and was set to compete in the 70kg category tournament. However, after two consecutive postponements of the competition and uncertainty about its realization, the organization opted to release him, paving the way for the fighter to move to the UFC.

“Not many people know this, but I ended up signing with the PFL. I was going to compete in their first tournament in the 70 kg category. Since the tournament had already been postponed twice and they weren't sure what would happen next, he released me,” explained Max Holloway.

With a victorious career in the UFC, Max Holloway has the chance to write another chapter in his story in the main event of UFC 329 , scheduled for April 11th. The Hawaiian faces Conor McGregor in a rematch against the Irishman.
