Aware of the Brazilian's comment, Jones tried to classify the incident as a misunderstanding, since he has always had a good relationship with him, and showed his respect. Frankly, the athlete made it clear that the target of his video was never Poatan, but rather the person who questioned his status as the greatest and best fighter in the history of the sport, namely Dana White. It's worth remembering that the UFC president stated that if Alex had beaten the Frenchman and won his third belt in a different weight class, he would be the true number one of all time.

“I wish Alex all the best. After my brother passed away, Alex observed a minute of silence in his honor. I deeply respect that. After the fight, I made a video that went quite viral. It was just a video where I was wearing a necklace with a goat pendant and making a certain expression, but I realized that it might have seemed like an attack on Alex,” Jones said in an interview with the YouTube channel 'Red Corner MMA'.
