Jean Matsumoto had to overcome more than just his rival at UFC Baku . The Brazilian faced Bekzat Almakhan on the preliminary card of the event, held last Saturday (27), and had his arm raised by split decision after a real war in the octagon. However, the prospect's challenges began even before he stepped into the fight.

In a video posted on social media, Matsumoto revealed the hostile atmosphere he faced during his entrance. In the footage, the Brazilian is seen making his traditional walk towards the octagon while being subjected to insults, obscene gestures, and boos from the local crowd.
With the victory, Jean reached the mark of 18 wins in his career, the fourth of which was achieved in the UFC octagon.
