Former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg), Cody Garbrandt returns to the world's most famous octagon in one of the year's main events. A few hours before Conor McGregor and Max Holloway face off in a long-awaited rematch, Garbrandt will compete on the preliminary card of UFC 329. To leave with his arm raised and achieve his second consecutive victory, "No Love" will have to overcome Texan Adrian Yanez , who has only one win in his last five fights.
One of the most popular names in the category, Cody delivered one of the most impressive performances in the sport's history by dethroning Dominick Druz in the co-main event of UFC 207 in December 2016. However, the American has never been the same since then. With brutal losses to TJ Dillashaw , Pedro Munhoz , and Kai-Kara France, he seeks to win two consecutive fights for the first time in almost three years, and enters the duel with Yanez as the underdog.

Garbrandt experienced an unusual situation in a fight refereed by Herb Dean.
This will be the former champion's first fight since the bizarre situation he experienced in his last bout. In March of this year, he faced Chinese fighter Xiao Long at UFC 326. Throughout the three-round fight, he was hit by several blows to the groin, to the point that he vomited due to the effects of the blow. Amidst the situation, referee Herb Dean deducted two points from the Chinese fighter, so Garbrandt emerged victorious by unanimous decision.
