UFC president Dana White refuted accusations of Jon Jones that he had covered up a positive anti-doping test Vitor belfort before facing the former light heavyweight champion in 2012, and took advantage of the occasion to take a jab at the North American fighter.

According to a report on the website “Deadspin”, Belfort had tested positive three weeks before facing Jon Jones, at UFC 152, but the UFC, even knowing what happened, tried to ignore the results of the exam. In a recent interview, Jones confirmed that the organization was aware of the irregularity, but did nothing.

In an interview with the Canadian television program “Off the Record”, White mocked Jones' statement, insinuating that the fighter, recently involved in several controversies outside the Octagon, should not speak out about it. " As Jon Jones would you know that? No, we didn't know that. Listen, Jon Jones is someone who shouldn’t talk about other people’s tests and what they have done”, he said.

In April of this year, Jones was stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title after being involved in a traffic accident, in which he crossed a red light, hit a pregnant woman's car and fled without providing assistance. Months earlier, he had been caught with cocaine during his training. After a long period of suspension, Jones was released to fight again, and should challenge the new champion of the category, Daniel Cormier, in April.
