Shara Magomedov raised doubts about Sean Strickland 's courage after his performance at UFC Baku , held last Saturday (14). The Russian defeated Michel Pereira by unanimous decision and, right after the triumph, directed provocations at the middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), who, coincidentally or not, was the Brazilian's main training partner in his preparation.
In an interview with 'Red Corner MMA', Magomedov downplayed Strickland's status and questioned his willingness to compete outside the United States. The fighter stated that his rival behaves like a champion limited to his territory and suggested that, if he were to fight in Abu Dhabi, he would seek strong security arrangements.

“He’s just a domestic champion. If he ever comes to Abu Dhabi, he’ll ask for five bodyguards. But most likely, he won’t even come here,” said Shara Magomedov.
Shara Magomedov's victory at UFC Baku sparks refereeing controversy.
Despite having his arm raised, Shara Magomedov was involved in a major controversy at UFC Baku . In the first round, the Russian was verbally warned by Herb Dean after grabbing Michel Pereira 's hair . Then, in the third round, "The Pirate" poked the Brazilian in the eye, constituting a second foul. Even so, no points were deducted.
