“I think Poatan lost to himself, you know? In my view, he moved up a weight class while overweight, right? His body fat percentage was visibly much higher than normal. I believe he wanted to move up a weight class by eating in a way that wasn't very healthy. At least that's what it seemed like,” said the fighter.
"And then this very rapid weight gain makes the guy slow. The absorption of blows isn't the same, the performance, the output was low. So I think he lost to himself. There were also the illegal blows from Gane, but it's also a fight where both exchanged punches. If you stop the fight to look at the illegal blows, the fight will go on for an hour, right?"
"There should have been a VAR review there for that to happen. So, I think he lost to himself. But if he had stayed at the weight he was, without needing to gain so much weight as he did, he would have had a better chance of winning than if he had gained weight on the scale," he concluded.
