A fan of Alex Poatan, Joe Rogan is impressed and praises Ciryl Gane in the UFC: 'He totally messed up'

In his official podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience', the professional expressed his amazement at the difficulty Poatan encountered in dealing with the Frenchman. In the fight for the interim title, the slower and heavier Brazilian couldn't find Gane in the octagon and was the target of jabs and straight punches. In the second round, the veteran was shaken by a jab from his rival, received an overwhelming ground and pound, and was subsequently knocked out.

Disgruntled, Poatan continued to complain that he was hit by several illegal blows to the back of the head from Gane and criticized referee Herb Dean for not warning and penalizing him. Not satisfied, the Brazilian stated that he was doing well in the fight and described the jab that shook him as a 'lucky punch'. However, Rogan, despite being a fan of the athlete, disagreed with this view and made a point of praising the Frenchman, as he frustrated his feared opponent with his movement, speed, and high level of striking, displaying technique and power.

“And even when feigning takedown attempts, not that he fully committed to them, but he made his opponent think about it. Look how he knocked him down with the jab. Alex was in serious trouble. He messed up completely and Gane did a fantastic job. He really put everything into it,” said the commentator.
