Alex Poatán believe that your defeat No. UFC White House, held last Sunday (14), was the result of a casual incident involving Cyryl GaneIn the second round, the Brazilian was surprised by a counter jab that stunned him, opening the way for a powerful ground and pound sequence that culminated in a knockout for the Frenchman. In the Pataxó fighter's view, the outcome of the fight was due to a lucky strike.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Poatan stated that he felt good during the fight, despite it being his heavyweight debut. According to the former champion, the first round was strategic, focused on reading his opponent before imposing his game. However, he highlighted that the jab he received completely changed the course of the fight.

“I felt really good during the fight, but I had never fought at this weight before. The first round was well-studied, the way I planned, to read the opponent and start imposing my game. For the Brazilian, although he recognizes the natural power of the strikes in the division, Gane's attack was technically unprofessional, characterizing, in his assessment, a lucky strike that ended up determining the outcome of the fight.
“Like I said, in heavyweight the punch is stronger. But I would say it was a lucky jab, a lucky strike, because if you throw a punch closing your eyes and lowering (your head)… great, the hand landed and that's where he started to do well and started landing the stronger punches,” concluded the former champion.
