Great rival of Ronda Rousey, the Brazilian Chris Cyborg had to make a small adjustment to his plans after the knockout suffered by his opponent to Holly holm at UFC 193, but wasted no time in launching a challenge to the current champion of the Ultimate women's bantamweight division. According to Holm's mentor and coach Mike Winkeljohn, the former boxer would see no obstacles in accepting a hypothetical duel against Cyborg, as long as the Brazilian makes the weight category up to 61,2 kg.
“Holly has never turned down a fight in her life. It won't be on her terms to refuse, unless she retires. She will fight anyone, anywhere. She is so mentally strong, believes so much in herself and what she can do. At 34, Holly holm has an undefeated professional record of 10 wins in 10 fights. Despite Cyborg's challenge, however, the tendency is for the new Ultimate champion to make her next appearance in a rematch against Ronda Rousey. Cyborg, in turn, should take his next step towards changing categories soon, fighting at a combined weight intermediate to the featherweight and bantamweight divisions, as announced by the Invicta FC event management.
